Safeguarding Wildlife habitat connectiviy
Protecting Wildlife corridors across africa
Our Mission
WilderThings is a non-profit conservation organisation dedicated to safeguarding biodiversity and maintaining ecological connectivity across terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems.
As human populations, resource demands and infrastructure expand, natural habitats are increasingly fragmented, degraded and isolated, threatening wildlife populations and the ecological processes that sustain them.
WilderThings combines scientific research, conservation planning and practical field interventions to identify and protect critical habitats and ecological corridors, while developing solutions that reconcile biodiversity conservation with growing human needs.
Our Work
Terrestrial & Freshwater Conservation
Protecting biodiverse landscapes, wildlife dispersal areas and movement corridors threatened by changing land use.
Protecting and restoring rivers and riparian corridors essential to biodiversity, ecosystem connectivity and local communities.
Marine Conservation (to be developed)
Safeguarding marine biodiversity, critical habitats and ecological connectivity in increasingly exploited oceans.
Our Projects
Whilst WilderThings seeks financial support to expand its terrestrial and marine conservation programmes across the region through scientific collaboration and strategic partnerships.
Our initial conservation project lies in the Mount Kenya–Laikipia landscape, and focuses on the restoration and protection of the Timau River, a biodiverse natural wildlife corridor and a key headwater of Kenya’s second larges river, the Ewaso
Our CONSERVATION SERVICES
WilderThings offers Services such as terrestrial wildlife survey design, associated training and implementation, for data-informed management.
At WilderThings, we believe that far more conservation results can be achieved when experts join forces, combining their knowledge, experience and resources. We actively welcome and promote collaborations with fellow conservation professionals, researchers and organisations to develop effective solutions to complex conservation challenges.
We also offer specialised ecological survey, conservation planning and field training services. Revenue generated through these services is reinvested in WilderThings to help finance our conservation projects.
Our Board of Directors
WilderThings is guided by five directors, each bringing distinct but complementary expertise in terrestrial and marine conservation, protected-area management, community engagement and international collaboration.
Together, they combine decades of field experience with the perspectives and energy of a younger generation of conservation professionals, providing a strong foundation for innovative conservation solutions and long-term organisational continuity.
