Wilder things is a non-profit wildlife conservation organization, that capitalizes on two decades of experience in protected area management, funding coordination and wildlife monitoring to:
Provide expert wildlife monitoring assistance
Develop and support wildlife projects with successful conservation outcomes
Wilder Things defines data-informed project needs and combines this with the expertise of various on-site and topic-specific conservation organizations to maximise efficient project implementation and tangible conservation outcomes.
Partners include but are not limited to the Mount Kenya Trust, Tsavo Trust, Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, Save The Elephants, Amara, the Timau River Project.
Approach
It begins with the need for an assessment. WT consults on-site and topic-specific partners to discuss potential solutions.
SELECTION
Site- and topic- specific data is collected by WT to develop informed solution strategies. Those solutions are discussed with on-site pro-active conservation partners and a coalition is established for project implementation. WT engages in fund-raising efforts to implement the projects.
IMPLEMENTATION
Projects are built and/or implemented by various site- and topic-specific organizations to ensure maximum efficiency and conservation outcomes. WT ensures overall supervision and timely donor reporting.
EVALUATION
Conservation outcomes are tested against baseline data over time. Financial support is sought by WT to continue the projects with the best outcomes. Potential project sustainable income generating strategies for the project are discussed using the same APPROACH
